About Me

Hi! My name is Rick Haney. This is a picture showing my family doing one of our favorite vacation activities, hiking. Over the years we have hiked several of our national parks and always get excited for our next great adventure. My kids are older now and off living their own life, but I still enjoy when they are able to join us for one more hike.

I didn't really grew up with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, however, I do remember building a small wooden shelf alongside my grandpa when I was a young child. That single afternoon must've planted a seed of creativity that remained dormant for quite while. Years later, when I bought my first house and needed furniture, I got they "hey, I can build that myself" bug, and it stuck. I realized I enjoyed the process and have been refining my abilities every since.

What started as building custom furniture for our home and crafting unique gifts for family and friends has slowly grown into something bigger. My family has always been there to support my journey, encouraging me to take a leap and start RBHMakes.

Today, every piece I make—from custom furniture to intricate wood inlays and handcrafted goods—is built right here in my shop Michigan. I treat every project with the same care, time, and precision I would give a piece for my own family.
